Afrodisiaco Crowdfunding Concert

Panama’s drum sound heads to Jazz for Peace

This September 19 at Teatro Amador, Afrodisíaco invites you to an evening of rhythm, celebration and support as they prepare to represent Panama at the Jazz for Peace Festival in Chile.

Winners of the Gaviota de Plata (Viña del Mar, 2016) for Best Song and nominees for the Latin Grammy (2018) for Best Folk Album, Afrodisíaco have been instrumental in bringing the power of Afro-Panamanian drumming to international stages. They’ve performed in Chile, Spain, the United States, Mexico, Morocco, France, Colombia and across Panama, and play a central role in preserving and passing this musical legacy to new generations.

Recently they released “Coge el Pandero”, the first single from their upcoming album Palenque Afrodisíaco (produced by Folk Lab Music) — a gathering around the drums that celebrates identity and freedom. Afrodisíaco blends deep respect for traditional drum rhythms with modern elements like spoken word (rap) and guitar, creating a fresh yet rooted sound.

Don’t miss this special night.
